About FlashSpeak

FlashSpeak is a conversational learning platform that lets you talk to your flashcards. It is designed and built in Melbourne, Australia by Luke Rohde and friends (ABN 39 353 618 773). We host the app in Singapore on Render.com, use OpenAI’s language services to process your speech, and handle payments safely through Stripe. If you need help, email luke at flashspeak dot ai.

Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or buying credits you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use FlashSpeak.

2. Your Account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) and able to form a legal contract. Keep your password safe and let us know if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Using FlashSpeak

FlashSpeak is provided “as-is” while in public beta. We work hard to keep the service available, but downtime may occur. You agree to use FlashSpeak only for lawful purposes and not to reverse-engineer, overload or interfere with our systems.

4. Credits, Billing & Taxes

  • FlashSpeak runs on pay-as-you-go credits purchased through Stripe.
  • Credits are deducted each time you run a conversation, based on usage shown in-app.
  • Prices include GST where applicable. We’ll email you a tax invoice/receipt automatically.

5. Refund Policy

We follow the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). In addition, we offer a no-questions-asked refund of your current unused credit balance if you cancel your account or if we discontinue the service. Credits already spent on completed sessions can’t be refunded.

6. Intellectual Property

FlashSpeak owns all software, branding and content we create. You keep ownership of anything you input. You grant us a licence to process that content so we can provide the service.

7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, FlashSpeak disclaims all warranties (express or implied) and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under the ACL.

8. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. We’ll refund any unused credits.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version and email you if the changes are material. Continuing to use FlashSpeak after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Disputes are subject to the courts of Victoria.
